Dehydration is much more common than most people realize. Few people drink as much water is as recommended by experts, which means that our bodies may be functioning sub-optimally on a regular basis. IV therapy for dehydration has long been common in emergency medicine, but it is also increasingly used as a regular wellness measure. Even if you do not require immediate medical attention, a Dehydration Infusion may be beneficial for your overall health. Dr. Skura offers this IV treatment at Art Aesthetica in Chicago, Illinois.

What is the Dehydration Infusion?

The Dehydration Infusion protocol includes:

  • Dr. Skura’s mineral blend
  • Saline 0.9%

Benefits of the Dehydration Infusion

Dehydration can result in either significant, dangerous health concerns or milder yet still disruptive symptoms. In addition to failing to drink enough water throughout the day, dehydration can be exacerbated by high temperatures, strenuous exercise, alcohol, caffeine, side effects from medication, or medical conditions. Typically, patients will notice symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, rapid heart rate, or headaches as a result of dehydration. The Dehydration Infusion IV therapy treatment addresses these symptoms, helping patients feel refreshed with benefits including an improved sense of clarity and glowing skin.

What to Expect During Treatment

Prior to your treatment, Dr. Skura will complete a brief consultation to ensure that you are well-suited to the Dehydration Infusion protocol. This includes reviewing your symptoms and goals for treatment as well as your health history, including any medical conditions, allergies, or medications. In some cases, Dr. Skura may recommend another IV therapy protocol, such as the After Party Rehydration Infusion.

After determining that you are a suitable candidate, the treatment can begin. This involves placing an IV, during which time you may feel a brief pricking sensation. The treatment is comfortable overall, with patients often choosing to read, watch TV, browse the internet, or even nap as they receive their Dehydration Infusion. The Dehydration Infusion typically takes just under an hour to complete.

After IV Therapy

After your Dehydration Infusion IV therapy treatment, you should quickly notice results, including improved energy and reduced dehydration symptoms. Dr. Skura can review reasonable expectations for your results during a consultation. Patients may notice some side effects at the site where the IV was placed, including redness, swelling, tenderness, and some potential bleeding or bruising. These should resolve quickly.

Dehydration Infusion therapy results are not intended to be permanent. For some patients, Dr. Skura may recommend that you receive multiple Dehydration Infusion treatments scheduled routinely. This especially applies to patients who face dehydration symptoms due to medical conditions or active lifestyles. During your consultation, Dr. Skura can discuss a long-term treatment plan to ensure you look and feel your best.

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Skura. I found her to be sympathetic and professional at the same time. In my experience (in 3 countries) a good internist learns enough about each patient so they can judge when a problem is serious. I feel Dr. Skura fits this description.”
