What is Xeomin for Facial Slimming?
Xeomin is a neuromodulator injectable. This means that it is in the same category as popular injectables such as Botox or Dysport. The treatment works using botulinum toxin type A, a purified neurotoxin which temporarily and safely paralyzes the muscles where it is injected.
Often, patients have larger or heavier-looking jawlines due to enlarged masseter muscles. These are the muscles that run from the back of the cheek to either side of the lower jaw. The masseter muscles engage when chewing, clenching the jaw, or grinding the teeth. Larger, stronger, and more defined masseter muscles create the appearance of a more prominent jaw. By injecting Xeomin into the masseter muscle, patients can achieve a slimmer appearance in the face. This creates a more delicate or feminine look for many patients. In addition, careful placement of Xeomin for facial slimming may also have the effect of reducing the ability to subconsciously clench the jaw. What to Expect During Treatment

Xeomin injections can be completed in as little as 15 minutes. As injections are completed so quickly and using a very fine needle, no numbing or anesthesia is required to complete the procedure. Aftercare Instructions
Following your Xeomin injections, no downtime is required. Patients are free to drive themselves home from the procedure and may immediately return to their normal routines if they choose to do so. Some common side effects include tenderness or sensitivity, redness, slight swelling, and bruising at the injection site. Patients are advised not to apply pressure or any products such as makeup to the area for at least 24 hours.
On average, Xeomin results last about six months. This varies for each patient. If you choose, you can receive regular maintenance injections.
