What is Kybella for Double Chins?
Kybella is a unique injectable product that is specifically designed to destroy fat cells below the chin. The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic aid, which naturally targets and metabolizes fat cells when injected into the treatment area. This allows patients to reduce the appearance of a double chin without requiring incisions. This makes Kybella an excellent alternative to surgical procedures including liposuction for many patients.
What to Expect During Treatment
Prior to administering Kybella injections, Dr. Skura will first complete a consultation. During this consultation, she will review your health history, including any allergies or medical conditions, to ensure that you are a suitable candidate. Most patients who wish to remove a double chin are good candidates for Kybella injections.
Once it has been determined that you are a good candidate for the procedure, injections can be administered. The area will first be thoroughly cleansed, and a topical numbing agent may be administered to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. A series of injections is then made below the chin to target fat cells in the area.
Most patients require multiple Kybella treatment sessions to achieve their intended results. On average, patients receive up to six injections, each scheduled at least one month apart. After a consultation, a custom treatment plan will be developed.
Aftercare Instructions
Kybella patients may return to their normal routines and drive themselves home immediately following their injections.
