Dermal Filler Post-Treatment Care
There is no downtime required following Juvéderm injections, so patients can return to their regular activities. You may have some temporary redness at the injection sites, but that’s about it. However, it is advised that strenuous activity and alcohol consumption be avoided for 24 hours after treatment for optimal results. Patients may experience some mild bruising and swelling following treatment, which should resolve with time.
While most patients experience minimal pain during and after Juvéderm injections, there is a risk of allergic reaction, especially in individuals with allergies to bacterial proteins or a history of severe allergies. It is important to inform your provider about your complete medical history, any known allergies, and any medications that can prolong bleeding before receiving treatment.
To help reduce swelling, use ice packs on the treated area as recommended. Additionally, avoid alcohol and certain supplements for a week before treatment to minimize the risk of bruising and other complications.
